Hockey Rink Hot Chocolate (The Good Kind)
The Mug Mittens Team
Cold arenas, loud crowds, and a tumbler full of something warm. This is the hot chocolate recipe we make every game day.
If you've ever sat in a cold hockey arena watching your kid's game, you know the drill. The bleachers are freezing. The zamboni smell is oddly comforting. And the only thing getting you through the third period is whatever's in your tumbler. This is our go-to game day hot chocolate. Rich, not too sweet, and stays warm the whole game when you've got your Mug Mitten on. **Ingredients** - 2 cups whole milk (or oat milk for a lighter version) - 2 tbsp good quality cocoa powder - 2 tbsp maple syrup (this is Canada, after all) - 1/4 tsp vanilla extract - Pinch of cinnamon - Pinch of sea salt - Optional: a splash of cream on top **Instructions** 1. Warm the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat — don't boil it. 2. Whisk in the cocoa powder until fully dissolved. 3. Add maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. 4. Taste and adjust sweetness. 5. Pour into your 20 oz tumbler, wrap it up, and head to the rink. **The Mug Mittens difference** A good tumbler keeps it warm. A Mug Mitten keeps your hands warm too. Trust us — by the second period, you'll be glad you brought it.
